Who We Are

Company Overview

True Compass LLC is a professional leadership coaching and consulting firm, anchored in practical experience that is supported by advanced degrees and multiple certifications. Since 2016, we have offered tailored services, including executive leadership coaching, team coaching, and training facilitation. We are certified by the Small Business Administration as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB).

What You Can Expect When Working with True Compass

We Maintain Confidentiality Rigorously.

Your coaching conversations remain confidential within ethical and legal boundaries. We don't share client names without explicit permission. We don't discuss your challenges with your colleagues, even when asked. Leaders need assurance that career-sensitive conversations remain private—we honor that trust absolutely.

We Challenge Your Thinking Without Judgment.

Effective coaching requires honest feedback. We'll question your assumptions, push back on rationalizations, and challenge thinking patterns that limit effectiveness. But challenge isn't criticism; we maintain deep respect for the complexity you navigate and help you see possibilities you might have missed.

We Focus on Your Objectives, Not Our Agenda.

Some coaches have methodologies they apply universally. We customize our approach to your context. If you need tactical communication strategies for managing a difficult employee, we focus there, not on deep psychological exploration unless that serves your goals. Your success metrics define our engagement priorities.

We Maintain Professional Boundaries.

We're your coach and advisor, not your friend or therapist. This distinction matters. Professional boundaries ensure we maintain objectivity to serve you effectively. We care deeply about your success while maintaining the perspective necessary to provide unbiased guidance.

We Follow Through on Commitments.

If we commit to sending you a resource, you'll receive it. If we promise to research an approach before our next session, that work gets done. We hold ourselves to the same accountability standards we encourage in you.

We Know When to Say, "I Don't Know."

We're experts in leadership development, not in every technical domain our clients manage. If you ask about procurement regulations, HR policy nuances, or technical issues outside our expertise, we'll acknowledge that rather than pretending to be knowledgeable. We'll help you think through the leadership implications while respecting your subject matter expertise.

Why Coaching?

Why Leaders Choose Coaching?

Executive coaching has become standard practice in high-performing organizations, not because leaders are failing, but because exceptional leaders face challenges that an external perspective can help them overcome to accelerate their effectiveness.

Coaching Isn’t Remedial – It’s Performance Enhancement

The most successful leaders engage coaches proactively, not reactively. Just as elite athletes employ coaches despite being at the top of their profession, executive leaders use coaching to refine skills, navigate complex challenges, and accelerate development. If you're considering coaching because you're struggling, coaching helps. If you're successful and want to become more effective, coaching can help even more.

Confidential Space for Strategic Thinking

Leaders operate in environments where every conversation is potentially political, every statement is scrutinized, and admitting uncertainty can signal weakness. Coaching provides a rare space where you can think out loud without political calculation, explore options without commitment, and acknowledge challenges without judgment. This confidential thinking space becomes increasingly valuable as you assume greater leadership responsibilities.

Accelerated Development Through Focused Practice

Coaching accelerates the leadership development process by providing structured reflection on experiences, frameworks for analyzing complex situations, and guided practice of new approaches. Rather than learning exclusively from your own mistakes over many years, you benefit from tested frameworks and structured development processes.

Success

Our Team and Collaborative Network

Lead Coach: L'Lorenzo Seabrook

L’Lorenzo personally leads all executive coaching engagements and serves as the primary facilitator for team coaching and training workshops. When you engage True Compass, you work directly with L’Lorenzo. This ensures consistency, relationship continuity, and access to the full depth of experience True Compass offers.

Specialized Collaborators for Large-Scale Engagements

For agency wide initiatives that require multiple concurrent coaching engagements or multiday facilitation events, True Compass partners with carefully selected coaching professionals who share our commitment to service and practical, results focused approaches. All collaborative partners hold professional coaching credentials (minimum PCC level with ICF) and undergo rigorous vetting to ensure alignment with True Compass standards.

Subject Matter Experts for Technical Topics

Certain engagements require specialized technical expertise beyond leadership coaching, such as organizational development assessments, workforce analytics, or HR system redesign. Rather than claiming universal expertise, we maintain a network of trusted specialists we can activate when clients’ needs require it. You receive expert support across all dimensions of your challenge, not just coaching alone.
